Snowy River

After a day of heavy snowing, I decided to go to my favourite nearby Strandja Natural Park and try to film the beauty of the freshly fallen snow. As I didn’t want to drive on the slippery roads, I took the bus, that surprisingly was still running. I got off near this little river and spent most of the day walking along it in knee-deep snow, filming different scenes. I didn’t have snowshoes at the time and at end of the short winter day, I caught the bus back quite tired, but happy that I managed to film this fleeting beauty. How amazed I was when I saw this field from my car window, driving past it. I immediately turned around, went back and took my camera and tripod out of the boot. I spend the next two days filming and recording in this magnificent field covered with wild flowers and inhabited by a variety of birds happily chirping their spring songs. It was such a healing experience for me, reminding me of the days when I was a child, spending my summers together with my sister at our grandparents’ peaceful villages. Spring Forest

One day I saw an amazing picture, posted by a friend of mine, of a forest floor completely covered in blossoming wild yellow flowers. I thought to myself, that I want to make a video of this place. I immediately wrote to my friend, asking where the place was. She pointed me to a place in the North part of Bulgaria and I quickly prepared myself and left to go there, before it was too late to see this view. When I got to the place, I was very happy to discover the area exactly the way I imagined it. The flowers were still there, densely covering the ground beneath the trees. I filmed a lot of different scenes in the area and recorded the song of the birds inhabiting it, which, as it was the middle of spring, were all quite actively singing. Campfire, Crickets and Waves

On a quiet summer day, I decided to go and spend the night at place I very well know in the South of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. I wasn’t planning on any particular shoot, but I had all my equipment with me for just in case. Having chosen my camping spot and hung my hammock, I had the idea of making a campfire and filming it. It was the peak of Bulgarian summer and the grass was already quite dry, so I was very careful to make sure that the fire stays within the stone circle that I created. You can watch my campfire video here: https://youtu.be/9lh_becOt4Y

It was a very peaceful evening and the crickets were singing their slow summer song. After having successfully recorded the video and put out the fire, I rested on the nearby rock, taking some posy pictures of myself and looking at the rising of the magnificent full moon and the distant lights of the nearby town. It was quiet and peaceful where I was. I tried filming the moon and it’s reflection in the sea, but when I got back home, I realised that my camera wasn’t able to record in such low light with good quality.

Later in the night I recorded the beautiful and perfectly soothing sounds of the gently lapping waves and the constant mellow chirping of the crickets were. I made a long video for a peaceful sleep. You can play it here: https://youtu.be/Ukugbb0Y72M
